- Key functions & working principle
| Working Principle |
1. Hot engine coolant (80–90°C/176–194°F) from the engine’s cooling system is directed into the heater core’s inlet tube and flows through the core’s copper-brass/aluminum tubes |
| 2. A blower fan (electrically driven) pulls cold cabin air through the finned core surface |
| 3. Heat from the hot coolant is transferred to the air via the high-conductivity tubes and fins |
| 4. Warmed air is blown into the cabin through air ducts, while cooled coolant exits the heater core’s outlet tube and returns to the engine cooling system |
| 5. A heater control valve regulates coolant flow to the core, adjusting cabin temperature (on/off or variable flow) |

1. Cabin Heating: Provides warm air to the operator compartment, ensuring comfort and visibility (prevents windshield fogging) in cold weather |
| 2. Heat Recovery: Reuses waste heat from the engine cooling system, improving overall energy efficiency |
