1.Direct Hydraulic Fluid Back to the Tank

In a hydraulic system, pressurized oil powers components like the excavator’s arm, bucket, or track motors. After acting on these components, the "spent" (depressurized) oil needs to be recycled. This hose serves as a dedicated channel to carry this used hydraulic oil from the system’s return line (e.g., after passing through control valves or actuators) back to the hydraulic tank, completing the fluid circulation loop.

2.Protect Fluid Cleanliness

Hydraulic systems are highly sensitive to contamination (e.g., dirt, metal shavings, or debris). The return line (and thus this hose) often works in tandem with a hydraulic return filter (installed near the tank inlet). The hose ensures the return oil flows steadily through the filter before entering the tank, trapping impurities and preventing them from re-entering the system. This protects precision parts (like valves or pumps) from abrasion and premature failure.
